48th ttra Annual International Conference
Québec City, Québec, Canada
June 20 – 22, 2017
The ttra Annual International Conference is the premier event in which the global community of practitioners and educators engaged in research, information management and marketing in the travel, tourism and hospitality industries comes together to network and share best practices. Members in ttra represent a variety of segments from the greater international travel and tourism community, including educators, practitioners, research providers/consultants and users of research.
We realize that within these represented agencies and organizations, budgets can be tight and every expense or funding decision may be scrutinized. This justification toolkit includes customizable documents and information to help you demonstrate the value of your participation in the conference and how it will benefit your organization.
The following points may be useful when justifying your attendance at the conference:
Use the information about sessions from the conference program or ttra website – www.ttra.com/events/sessions - to outline some of the topics, resources or best practices you’ll be learning about.
Offer to prepare and deliver a short presentation or Q&A with your colleagues upon your return from the conference. This will be an opportunity for your participation to benefit your whole unit or department and increase the value of your attendance.
Share presentation slides and handouts with your colleagues providing value beyond the conference dates.
Develop a plan for how you will cover your work responsibilities during your travel time and communicate this plan to your supervisor.
Be sure to register by the Early Bird Deadline of February 28th to save $50 off your conference registration.
Conference exhibitors and sponsors providing a wide range of regulatory services will be present at the conference. Look over our Exhibitor and Sponsor list – www.ttra.com/events/sponsors - to determine if you can arrange meetings with current or potential vendors who may have solutions to assist your organization.
Proving you can put the knowledge gained at the ttra Annual International Conferenceinto action immediately following the conference, outlining the specific costs and benefits associated with the conference and demonstrating ways to share the benefits with your colleagues will make approval much more likely. We look forward to seeing you in Québec City!
