Position: Academic Director and Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor

Description:The NYU School of Professional Studies seeks an Academic Director and Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor for the Jonathan M. Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism. This is a nine-month, one-year renewable faculty appointment, with a concurrent eleven-month administrative appointment.  The rank of the position is dependent upon experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be a committed educator, with evidence of significant contributions in higher education.   S/he will possess advanced academic and professional credentials (Master’s Degree required; Ph.D., or comparable advanced terminal degree highly preferred), and a minimum of five years of full-time university teaching experience in hospitality and tourism.  Administrative experience in higher education and direct experience working in the hospitality and tourism industry is highly preferred.

Primary Role Objective: The Experience Industry Management Department of the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences offers a B.S. in Recreation, Parks, & Tourism Administration. An M.S. in Agriculture with a specialization in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management is currently not accepting applicants. The Experience Industry Management department, accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions offers areas of study in Tourism, Hospitality and Destination Management, Event Planning and Experience Management, and Sport and Recreation Experience Management.

Description: Full-time, academic year, lecturer position within the Experience Industry Management Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California. The preferred start date is September 7, 2017, but not later than January 8, 2018.  Possible renewal to subsequent years. Responsibilities and duties include teaching undergraduate courses in Tourism, Hospitality and Destination Management with specific expertise in Resort and Lodging Experience Management.
