Description: This manager position is hired to work in the Office of Compliance and Monitoring (OCM) within the Office of the Governor (OOG) reporting to the Division Director of OCM.  Responsible for overseeing and assigning work to staff responsible for conducting compliance reviews on entities receiving funds awarded/provided by the OOG.   Responsible for reviewing, interpreting and making recommendations for corrective action on reviews completed by staff.  Assist in developing policies and procedures for daily activities.  Provides technical assistance to programs on contracts, grants, and rules.  Supervises the work of others, which involves all personnel management functions.  As required, conducts compliance reviews.  Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for initiative and independent judgment.  Applicants must be willing to travel 5% of the time.

PositionBC Regional Innovation Char (BCRIC) in Tourism and Sustainable Rural Development

Description: Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Management, this endowed innovation chair position, established in 2008 and approved through the BC Innovation Council, provides a unique opportunity for an innovative leader who is acknowledged by their peers as having the potential to demonstrate world-class research leadership.

The institution values, promotes and facilitates respectful engagement and the co-creation of knowledge with indigenous communities. This position aligns with two research strengths in the strategic research plan including: 1) resilience of island, coastal and rural regions and 2) entrepreneurship, innovation and social change.

The Chair provides this support by leading research projects, engaging in partnerships and collaboration on initiatives, providing evidence and input on policy and program development, identifying and mobilizing innovative solutions to pressing rural challenges, and developing capacity in rural development, sustainability and tourism in the rural BC ecosystem.

The BCRIC will work across disciplines at VIU and develop and maintain a strong network of researchers across BC, Canada and in the international context. An advisory committee, comprised of members from external stakeholders from government, industry and university will support the successful BCRIC to identify research opportunities and provide ongoing guidance on initiatives. The Chair is expected to actively recruit, train and supervise undergraduate and graduate researchers to cultivate research capacity.

Reporting to the Dean of the Faculty of Management, this position provides 75% of time to achieve the research mandate of the Chair and 25% (equivalent to 2 courses of approximately 34 students) for teaching within the Faculty of Management, primarily in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Recreation and Tourism Management. It is envisioned that this Chair will also contribute to VIU Master's degrees, particularly to the Master of Arts in Sustainable Leisure Management, or to the development of new Master's degrees as appropriate within the Academic Plan, and other inter- or multi-disciplinary initiatives.

Description: The NYUSPS Jonathan M. Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism is searching for a non-tenure track full time Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor in Tourism/Destination Marketing. The start date for this position is Spring or Fall 2018. The rank of the position is dependent upon experience and qualifications.

The Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor position will provide full-time academic service to our undergraduate program in Hospitality and Tourism Management and graduate programs in Tourism Management or Hospitality Industry Studies. Full-time faculty members are expected to teach three (3) degree courses per semester. In addition to teaching, each faculty member assists with student advisement/activities and curriculum planning, recruits and collaborates with adjunct faculty, and nurtures industry relationships. Many of our faculty conduct extensive applied research in the field.

This position provides complex (journey-level) work in the CSTT’s Houston Area Region (south east Texas).  Duties include: collaborate with a variety of public and private stakeholders to ensure the continuum of survivor care established in the region is functioning in accordance with CSTT guiding principles – trauma-responsive, victim-centered, collaborative, and continuously improving; assess strengths and needs of the region; develop and implement plans to expand the geographic boundaries of the regional model and to expand that model to include research-based prevention programs as well as long-term services to build resiliency in survivors of child sex trafficking; and provide training and technical assistance to constituents throughout the region on child sex trafficking and promising practices to prevent, combat, and serve its victims

Position: Assistant Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management 

Description: The Hospitality and Tourism Management program at Flagler College invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 2018.  Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Hospitality, Tourism, or closely related discipline (or have a documented completion date prior to appointment) and demonstrate commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.  Teaching and/or industry experience in two or more of the following areas is required:  hotel management, lodging operations, hospitality finance and accounting, marketing and sales, guest services management, human resources, and resort/club administration.  Candidates should be eager to engage students in high-impact experiential learning and possess a genuine desire for interdisciplinary involvement on- and off-campus. Preference will be given to candidates who are motivated to mentor and develop students toward achieving their passions. 

Candidates should provide evidence of excellence in teaching, an active professional agenda, and examples of potential courses.  The teaching load is four classes per semester.  Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with rank and experience.
